Oh, we’ve got a bit of everything this week. I was honestly amazed at the diversity of interesting vehicles.
First up: an Arcimoto. Two seats, and I’m guessing doors for inclement weather.
Three Jeeps and a Benz , all for sale. Paging David Tracy!
It was a beautiful afternoon in the Seattle area, and this Ford Fairlane was seen. Look how straight she is, and those little tail fins.
Another Ford, this one a Ranchero , though I don’t think it came from the factory in that shade of yellow, with twin black stripes.
My favorite of the bunch, honestly. And... I thought I was done, but no! On the way back from delivering some groceries, I see this:
Apologies for the lackluster photo. It’s a Vixen motorhome, one of 587 according to Wikipedia.

Dammit, Washington. All of the cool Jeeps are out there, for sale, out of reach.

Is that Camano Hill Road?

Yes, it is. Across the main road from the transfer station, at that light.

I saw an Austin Healey like that yesterday when I took my car out for a short run to give it some exercise! The one I saw was British Racing Green though. This is the same car I saw, it lives around here so this pic is from the other year :)
I also saw one of those Vixen motorhomes the other year as well!!! No pics though, sadly...

Again proving the Jeep is always muddier on the other side of the country.

Hmmm I really don't seem to see all that many old motor homes where I am at. I guess the people are just too darn rich to tolerate 80s space wedges but poor enough to not tolerate nonexistent nonexistent parts availability.

Oh, really old motor homes aren’t that common here either...Vixens are ‘80s I believe? I’ve only ever seen the one.

I can’t imagine they are common anywhere with only 587 built. I have been seeing many more classics on the road now that winter is over the and summer heat hasn’t quite set in.

That TR6 was very nice.

When I moved to this neighborhood seven or eight years ago, there was one over on the next block, and I don’t think this one is that one, so I think I’ve seen two of 587.

The
TR6 is a cool little car...not too ma
ny around though. I think I’ve only seen one in person in my life!

I actually saw a TR7 recently. They went from this beauty
to this
I actually like the way they look but not conventionally pretty at all. I know one Oppo has one in an amazing color scheme.
Rust is much less of an issue here so unless it has sat in damp conditions for a long time, it will probably be fine . There are a few people who daily drive classic air cooled VWs year round including a Thing and a bus. However, this is prime classic car season right now so basically peak DOTS.

Junkyard Digs just rescued one of those ‘ugly’ TR7s
:P
Good Youtube channel if you’ve not watched ‘em before! I like their
FIAT resurrection
, surprise surprise...they mostly do American stuff, but still a great channel. Their first
old Ford pickup rescue caper
(in conjunction with Thunderhead289, who also has his own channel) is one of my all time fav Youtube series.

I remember being intrigued by that but then I ran out of time. I may give it a try later this week but for now I’ll stick to good ol’ Murilee for my junkyard content.

I used to throughly enjoy Murilee’s content when he posted on The Truth About Cars. Where’s he writing for these days?

He’s the only reason I head over to Autoblog. Their format isn’t the best really.

Don’t forget to view the image gallery because it contains many photos not used in the article.
But we all know where the real action is

Ah, cool! I’ve now read like 12 of his articles from Autoblog this evening! :P
As for the X-90, ppfffttt, no! :D They are really rare everywhere I think, but especially here. I haven’t seen one for a year or two, but I remember seeing a purple one when I was younger and thinking it was awesome! :D

Glad to hear Murilee can help stave off the boredom. There isn’t much more I can suggest unfortunately, since you already know about this and this . Got a summer gig to supplement the substitute teacher job? I think that’s what I remember you saying you do.
It’s been a while for me too. Haven’t seen one that pristine in a long time. Quite striking in person, really. For posterity:
